The game was crowd funded via Kickstarter campaign and PayPal pledges. Pillars of Eternity (original working title Project Eternity and Project Trenton ) is a party-based role-playing video game inspired by the Infinity Engine games ( Baldur's Gate 1 and 2, Icewind Dale 1 & 2, and Planescape: Torment) set in an original fantasy world created by Obsidian Entertainment for Microsoft Windows, OS X and Linux.
